Why Strive Lifestyle?
In July of 2020, Justin decided to start his own sports performance business: Strive Sports Performance. As two former athletes, we have always made working out and eating healthy a priority in our life. As time went on and we went from a married couple that only had to care for ourselves to a married couple with multiple jobs and two kids, priorities shifted and so did the amount of time we have to focus on our own health. We hope to help other people of all ages and in all different phases of life realize that they can squeeze movement into their routine and make it a part of their lifestyle.
I decided to start a “spin off brand” from Justin’s business, Strive Lifestyle, after posting workouts Justin was giving me on Instagram and getting consistent messages of people asking how they could do something like that. I kept getting messages from friends asking what I was doing, how I fit these workouts in and how they could get back into working out. I thought this might be a good opportunity to help give more of the general population a guide and a place to start because if you don’t have a place to start, you will never get started.
This brand will be managed by yours truly. I am not a fitness expert. I have a degree in Accounting, not Exercise Science. I have two kids and two jobs. I DO HAVE a very valuable resource at my disposal…. my husband. Justin does have an Exercise Science major and writes workout programs for his job! Justin will continue to focus on high performing athletes and individuals. I will take on Strive Lifestyle as a way to make movement accessible and fun for anyone looking to make this a lifestyle. All plans will be written by Justin and implemented by me and/or him.
Since I am currently a mom of 2 juggling life, snack times, meal prepping and quality time with my kids, I wanted to kick off this brand with a program that I think is:
Easy to fit into everyday life.
Doable from home (body weight or add weight if you have equipment… since alot of us are working from home and/or not back to the gym quite yet).
Doesn’t crush my body so much that I can’t go about my everyday life working, picking up babies, etc.
Makes me feel better about myself when I leave the home gym!
As Justin and I talked about what we want from this brand, we seemed to have more opinions about what we DIDN’T want. We don’t want:
To be seen as a “get thin quick” weight loss program,
To guarantee results that are unattainable,
To just list exercises that make you tired but don’t have a purpose behind them.
We hope you can make movement a part of your everyday lifestyle and we hope we can be a guiding light that gets you either back in the swing of moving or gives your movement some purposeful direction.
Now, let’s get moving!
